Johannah Ngwenya, one of our Bethesda children – now an adult Grade R (kindergarten) teacher, had the opportunity to travel to the USA with Tonya Small, and Heather Rumley. During their 4-week, mid-year break, they did a whirlwind tour to connect with churches and individuals that have been praying for Johannah, Bethesda and many of our children for a very long time. In the weeks they were in the USA, Johannah was able to share her testimony to many people in many locations. She told how God had saved and kept her and her siblings safe when they were in a very desperate situation. Through the ministry of Bethesda and the diligent prayers and teaching from her houseparents, Johannah was able to hear and understand the gospel and eventually, God called her to be one of His children.
Johannah’s testimony of God’s grace, provision, and protection in her life is available to view and the link is below if you did not see it on our Facebook page or in the separate email that went out on 15 August. What an encouragement for anyone who is involved in parenting, orphan or foster care to know that God is actively working and transforming hearts and lives.
Keep praying for Bethesda’s parents and staff as we continue to work hard to teach, challenge, discipline and love the children that God has given to us. We are not just looking for “success stories,” but are looking to eternally impact the lives of each child who comes to Bethesda. Pray especially for the children that they will grasp the good news of the gospel and learn how to follow their Heavenly Father.
