The Office is Changing
As everyone will be aware, Miss Small and Miss Rumley are in America for the last term and are planning on returning for the 2019 school year.

As Miss Meiring will be teaching grade 3, Miss Muhadi will be assisting in the office. We are grateful for her willingness to help out! Please be
patient as she finds her feet during this very busy time of the year.

Career Week
Career week was a lot of fun! The learners heard from various professionals and businessmen. We had visits from lawyers, paramedics, an entrepreneur and chaplain for the  Mamelodi Sundowns as well as a veterinarian. We even had a willing patient!

The Career Dress-up day was very exciting and we saw many children dressed as doctors, nurses, policemen, lawyers and we even had one or two pilots.

IEB Testing
Grades 3 and 6 learners will write standardised internet based tests. Although they don’t need to study for these tests, they have to make sure to sleep well the night before and eat breakfast the morning before the test. Test dates: English 17/10, Maths 18/10 & Science 19/10

If students are absent they need to contact the office to schedule a make up test.

Test Dates: English- 17 Oct, Math- 18 Oct, Science- 19 Oct

Re-Registration Final Reminder
Please let us know if you do not intend on sending your child back to JCA next year. We have many parents on the waiting list who are interested in sending their children to our school. As we need to fill these spaces, we would appreciate it if you could advise us as soon as possible.

Also be reminded that any re-registration fees paid AFTER 1 October will be R 2200.

Spur & Spring Crazy Hat Day
We had our Spur night on the 7th of September and we were able to raise  R 4521 for the school hall fund! Thank you to all the families who supported this event.  In the evening at Spur, we also announced the Crazy Hat Day winners. All of the hats were so unique and interesting that it was VERY difficult to choose the top 3. Spur was kind enough to also sponsor some very nice prizes for our winners. Congrats!

Stay Hydrated!
Due to the hot weather we are experiencing at the moment (and will experience for the remainder of the year) it is VERY important that the children stay hydrated. Drinking enough water can prevent nosebleeds and headaches. Please make sure that your child brings a water bottle to school.

Please update contact details
A few parents are still contacting Miss Small on her private number. As she is no longer the principal and is in America, please contact the school on the new office number—012 711 0087

If you need to advise the school of a learner that will be absent, you are welcome to send a message to 081 403 2390 . Please note however that this number is for WhatsApp messages only and cannot receive phone calls or SMS messages.
